It’s quite a while ago since I started my project hackerei.com, but not much happened since then. What is this hackerei thing all about? The basic idea behind hackerei.com is to help people in finding relevant information without even knowing exactly what they look for. It’s some sort of a first-step research tool to find out “what’s going on” in a specific topic. The concept can be adapted for all kinds of special fields, but I chose Information/IT-Security for the prototype which runs on www.hackerei.com. I was often surprised how well the machine worked, the recent Sony and RSA incidents were identified and listed quite early as being “important”.
My intention was (and still is) to develop the idea further, but I just can’t find the time for it. I am interested in sharing my work and evolve the whole concept with somebody’s help, which is the main reason why I decided to release the paper (my bachelor thesis). I initially kept the paper confidential, but you can now find it on the list of bachelor theses of the FH HWZ.
